Responsibilities

PURPOSE

To ensure that scheduled fleet maintenance and defect repairs are managed in the most cost effective and efficient manner. Achieved by detailed scrutiny of the Maritime Fleet Management system, purchase orders and related service documentation. Including the maximisation of all warranty arrangements and extraordinary considerations. To support the smooth and efficient running of the Vehicles within the Fleet, in order to achieve the company standards and targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and coordinate routine maintenance schedules for specialised plant and container handling machinery, ensuring timely servicing to prevent breakdowns and maximize equipment uptime.
  • Manage and prioritise repairs and breakdowns, assigning tasks to service providers based on urgency and availability, and ensuring repairs are completed promptly and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and manage cost, ensuring that invoices are in line with estimates for repairs
  • Act as the main point of contact between terminals, engineers, and management, providing clear and concise updates on equipment status, repair progress, and any potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including engineer time, and equipment downtime.
  • Ensure all service activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Produce reports on equipment performance, service schedules, and repair outcomes, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
