This is a fast paced, high-impact, time sensitive environment. Ingram Barge Company, the leading carrier on America’s inland waterways, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Fleet Dispatcher in the Granite City, IL office. This position will report to the Manger, Fleet Dispatch and responsible for safely and efficiently designing and expediting tows, coordinating the movement of barges in the fleet, scheduling staff, and coordinating vessel refueling. Successful dispatchers are detail oriented and have strong organizational, logistical, and analytical skills. They can evaluate situations, make decisions quickly and move on to the next item on the agenda. The ideal candidate works well across teams, is willing to learn and grow, and exercises good judgment. What you’ll be doing: Coordinate the efficient movement of barges in and out of the fleets Assist with the management of fleeting operations Collaborate with internal and external departments Assist in the management of fleet barge capacity Handle customer billing in FMS (Fleet Management Software) Maintain rigging inventories as necessary Customer, vendor visits Participate in local harbor groups Interface with related government agencies as per IBCO policy and procedures Updating and maintaining reports and systems Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred Two years dispatching, customer service or vessel experience is desirable but not required Strong organizational, logistical, and analytical skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Acute attention to detail Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Ability to work flexible work hours to accommodate business needs Highly organized and detailed oriented with the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously Schedule: 4/4; 12-hour shifts 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
