FLEET MAINTENANCE & BREAKDOWN CONTROLLER

Salford Van Hire Limited, one of the country’s leading vehicle rental and contract hire companies who have been trading for over 60 years, are looking to recruit additional ‘Fleet Maintenance / Breakdown Controllers’, who will be based within our busy Maintenance Department in our Manchester Head Office.

The ideal applicant will:

  • have an average level of HGV mechanical & maintenance knowledge
  • possess a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • have an excellent telephone manner
  • have medium level computer skills
  • be able to work as part of a very busy team
  • have a good standard in their command of the English language
  • be able to confidently and competently interact with customers, other business divisions and service agents alike to better ensure that our already strong relationships are maintained to their fullest.

The key duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • the issuing of company order numbers for externally sourced maintenance and repairs, including tyres, and ensuring true value for money
  • monitoring, maintain & updating on ongoing jobs
  • customer liaison
  • instigation of any due warranty/policy related claims from vehicle manufacturers
  • monitor and approve jobs carried out in line with manufacturer and company guidelines
  • ensure all phone calls are dealt with promptly and efficiently
  • carry out any associated administration tasks required by the role

Working days: Monday to Friday
Working hours: Alternating weeks = Week 1 - 8am to 4pm & Week 2 - 10am to 6pm
(We may be able to consider other alternative working hours, subject to prior agreement)
