We are currently seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager in our Winnipeg Head Office to join our team
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible to reduce maintenance operating cost, optimize equipment repairs and increase equipment availability.
You will be responsible for the entire life cycle of all fleet assets. You will provide support, coaching and direction to the equipment coordinators, foremen and supervisors..

QUALIFICATIONS:

At minimum you have 5 years of experience in a Fleet Management role with technical/mechanical expertise working in a large shop. Experience with TMT software and a post secondary education considered are considered assets. Strong leadership and troubleshooting skills to manage a large diverse team; as well as, excellent vendor management skills. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build beneficial and lasting relationships with internal and external customers. Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Basic accounting knowledge and ability to use MS Office and telematics software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demands of Fleet Maintenance Manager are above average. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, squat, drive, walk, and stand for long periods of time. Required to climb in and out of truck and trailer. Need to have a good sense of balance with hand and foot coordination with ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights. Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season. Must be able to operate power equipment. Personal protective equipment must be worn.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee coordination of equipment repairs and ensure timely and effective records are kept for all fleet assets.
  • Develop, maintain and implement all Gardewine Maintenance policies and communicate maintenance requirements to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Identify problems before they happen with telematics and proactive inspections
  • Coordinate equipment utilization and performance with various operation groups
  • Provide after-hours support
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and leasing companies
  • Analyze maintenance costs and/or repairs and provide expert recommendations
  • Manage and report on operational performance of the fleet, such as lifecycle management, cost per mile, and major component costs
  • Provide data and reports to the Director of Maintenance
  • Interpret system data and reports enabling consistency, improvement and the execution of preventative fleet maintenance
  • Assist in the development of a capital equipment replacement budget
  • Lead, practice and oversee safety in all shops to ensure accident and incident free environment
  • Participate as needed in other activities that support the Maintenance department and overall company objectives and goals
