About the role Vermeer Southeast is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic that delivers outstanding customer experience by efficiently completing prepaid maintenance services, conducting thorough equipment inspections, and executing factory-directed field campaign updates in both shop and field environments. The candidate will perform accurate defect identification and ensures all necessary repairs are completed within designated timeframes, consistently upholding dealership standards. What you'll do 1. Customer Satisfaction Communicates with customer courteously and professionally at all times. Communicates with customers to schedule maintenance and field campaign needs in the shop and/or field. Build and maintain customer relationships. Introduce other products and services to customers. 2. Diagnoses and Repairs Performs maintenance on customer equipment and inspects customer equipment by visual observations, testing equipment and current maintenance checklist Performs factory directed field campaign updates on equipment using provided instructions and current best practice. Records and documents the maintenance and/or campaign procedures and time to complete the repair. 3. Knowledge of Best Practices Participate in factory and/or dealership service schools, meetings and training events. Utilize on-the-job-training opportunities. Adheres to department safety practices. Qualifications Desired minimum experience, education and skills required: Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Two (2) years technical training/certification or equivalent industry experience. Forklift certification a plus. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand read and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to multi-task and be detailed orientated with demonstrated follow through and organizational skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated customer service skills. Basic typing and computer skills. Must have a valid Driver’s License. Knowledge of current trends/practice of repairs. Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment. Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic and electrical ISO schematics.
