SUMMARY OF POSITION The Fleet Maintenance Technician is a key role within the Boyle Transportation organization, holding responsibility for preventive maintenance, diagnoses and repairs mechanical and electrical issues on various vehicles and equipment, maintains records, manages parts inventory, and ensures compliance with all safety regulations. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance on trucks, to prevent major breakdowns Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists and jacks, etc. to repair trucks as needed Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devices such as motor analyzers, handheld computers, and chassis charts Maintaining detailed records of maintenance history, repairs, inspections, and parts inventory Monitoring, ordering, and managing the stock of necessary parts, supplies, and tools. Adhering to safety regulations, understanding hazards, and following proper safety procedures in the workshop and on the road. Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are in the proper limits Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions Ability to move a tractor and trailer around the yard Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications, Experience, and Skills: High school diploma or equivalent Diesel Mechanic (ASE) Certification, preferred Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), preferred Valid driver’s license with satisfactory MVR Must be able to complete a satisfactory Criminal Background Check 3+ years of experience as a diesel technician Experience with hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic systems, and diagnostics experiences, preferred Proficiency with navigating diagnostic tools and computers Ability to effectively manage competing priorities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Excellent PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct reports Physical Requirements: Involves standing, climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in elevated positions Must be able to work in environments with varying temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors Must be able to lift 50 pounds About us: Named one of the 20 “Best Fleets to Drive For” in the US and Canada for 10 consecutive years Inducted into the Best Fleets Hall of Fame in 2022 A family-based company culture with a paramount focus on safety A comprehensive package of benefits and an environment where employees can grow and develop their careers Benefits: This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
