Description Job Overview: The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Key duties include conducting oil and filter changes, standardizing fittings on trailers, and rigging new units according to company policies. The technician will also repair various components on older vehicles, install inspection stickers, and monitor parts inventory. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment, including oil and filter changes. Standardize fittings and connections on both new and older trailers. Install check valves in strategic locations to ensure optimal functionality of trailers and trucks. Rig new trailers and trucks in accordance with company policies. Repair components on older units, including blowers, power take-offs, hoses, air lines, fittings, valves, and filters. Install current inspection stickers on vehicles. Monitor and manage parts inventory effectively. Conduct visual inspections of trucks and trailers as they arrive at the yard/shop. Install and repair cameras on vehicles. Collaborate with other departments, such as AWT and Plant, to assist with various tasks. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Maintain, organize, and clean tools, and ensure the parts room is also kept organized and clean. Assist with additional tasks and projects as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of the trucking industry Proficiency with maintenance tools and repair equipment Excellent problem-solving skills Keen attention to detail Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics Strong organizational skills for inventory management. Education and Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience fleet maintenance or heavy vehicle service. Experience with tankers is preferred HAZMAT certification is a plus Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds as needed.
