Event Souk is seeking a Fleet Manager to join our operations team.
RESPONSIBILITY:
· Dispatch a fleet of professional drivers and work collaboratively with them and other operations personnel to ensure safe, on-time delivery and collection for Event Souk customers.
· Respond promptly to changes to reroute or reschedule drivers, maximizing transportation time.
· Communicate with customers electronically and by phone to schedule delivery and collection timings.
· Enter, edit, and update relevant information in an internal computer system.
· Collaborate with sales and administration to update delivery sheets. Act and respond swiftly to urgent deliveries.
· Communicate with customers and sales to establish an efficient delivery schedule.
· Establish efficient routes and transportation schedules.
· Ensure all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training. Monitor drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and safe driving practices.
· Work closely with the human resources department to create job descriptions and hire qualified drivers for company vehicles.
· Establish and oversee purchasing, operational, and replacement strategies for cost-effective operations.
· Schedule regular maintenance for all vehicles. Manage vehicle licensure and registration.
· Provide management with budgeting, schedules, maintenance, and fleet progress reports. Develop methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent leadership skills, including goal-setting, motivation and training
· Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices
· Basic math and data analysis skills
· Familiarity with transportation scheduling and management software
· Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed
· Ability to set and monitor a budget
· Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
· Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities
· Keen attention to detail
· Should have previous relevant experience working in or with a fleet, preferably within the same industry
· Candidates should have an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, automotive technology or another relevant field
· Possess UAE driving license is a must
