ABOUT THE JOB

RenewGas is seeking to hire a Fleet Manager to manage and optimize the company’s trucking assets. This person will oversee all truck and trailer assets and heavy equipment across multiple locations nationwide and will report directly to the VP of Operations.
Key responsibilities include building the programs, processes and software to provide centralized tracking and availability of all equipment, and managing preventative maintenance, repairs and budgets to ensure uptime across the fleet.
This role also involves researching and recommending the right equipment for new jobs, coordinating asset movements, and collaborating with vendors to enhance operational efficiency while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Candidates must be willing and able to travel to inspect equipment or audit maintenance programs at customer sites or local terminal operations as necessary.
This position is a salaried position with an annual bonus. This individual should live in the Louisville / Mount Washington area and have prior maintenance and/or trucking operations experience.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATE CRITERIA

We are actively seeking candidates who can bring experience developing processes, metrics and reporting to help manage our nationwide operational footprint from our central logistics office in Mount Washington, Kentucky.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate:

  • 3+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, or a similar field is required
  • College degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required
  • Solid understanding of FMCSA, DOT, and hazmat regulations is required
  • Prior experience as a driver, mechanic, dispatcher, or operations coordinator can be advantageous
  • Certifications like the Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) are a plus.

  • Strong listening and verbal communication; good organization and problem-solving skills
  • Strong basic math and analytic skills, understanding of Microsoft applications

    Direct Reports: The Fleet Manager will coordinate with mechanics at each RenewGas terminal, contributing to quarterly and annual performance reviews, and be available to support each terminal manager with maintenance program issues.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the company’s trucking assets, including tracking, maintenance, and readiness for operations.
  • Maintain and Oversee a detailed and accurate asset list for the entire company that tracks the condition, maintenance history, and operational status of all truck, trailer and heavy equipment assets
  • Regular daily updates to inform management about the status and availability of the fleet
  • Contribute to equipment selection decisions to help ensure all new equipment fits the intended purpose
  • Manage the movement of trucks and assets to support operational readiness
  • Ensure timely delivery and positioning of fleet assets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with maintenance and parts vendors at each company location
  • Develop preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize asset life
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and inspections
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle registrations and certifications
  • Develop budgets to support the maintenance program, including options for cost savings while maintaining reliability.
