Overview: The asset management team within Fleet Management is looking for a new Fleet Manager – Technical. This is one of two key global roles within the team, providing technical decision making, advice, support and co-ordination within the business and providing oversight and response to our external ship management partners. The role’s primary function is focussed on the owned/bareboat chartered fleet for oversight of technical operations, dry-dockings and projects. Systems thinking and a excellent communication abilities (English verbal and written) will be required. Working extensively in a complex global environment you will be flexible and able to work independently to support team and department goals. Location preference for this role is Seoul with Southampton also considered for the right candidate. Job Description Main Accountabilities Lead and support as required on asset management and supporting activities including contracts, ship manager liaison, technical decision making and decision support; one fleet approach in all activities. Provide technical project management to various fleet upgrades as assigned. Liaise with ship management to ensure effective installations and operation of technical upgrades, including specific training needs on any new technologies. Evaluate new technology installations in line with expected benefits. Provide technical support to ensure fleet compliance with new regulations and company strategy. Provide technical leadership to business initiatives including but not limited to; Dry dock management, annual budgets, financial governance, fleet standards development, new fuel technologies, LIFEX and safety or technically lead projects. Manage, maintain and review fleet wide contracts for effective fleet management. Assist in other areas of Fleet Management activities within skill level as and when required including safety learning through shared experience feedback and support to incident investigation Assist in other areas of the wider business as reasonably required and within skill level. Act as an Ambassador for the business at all times by acting as mentor/guide and setting a good example to others. Job Requirements Knowledge & Skills Technical knowledge of marine engines and associated balance of plant; shore side superintendent experience preferred. Project management skills Demonstrable experience of successfully implementing and managing a portfolio of technical upgrades within regulatory and company requirements.
