We seek a skilled and motivated Fleet Mechanic to join our team and maintain our diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment, ensuring their readiness, reliability, and safe operation. The Fleet Mechanic will work on various vehicles, including but not limited to Ram, Isuzu, and Toyota trucks, dump trucks, trailers, and various small engine equipment. Requirements Perform preventive maintenance services on various fleet vehicles and small engine equipment. Diagnose and repair issues on Ram and Toyota pickup trucks, dump trucks, box trucks, trailers, and small engine equipment (weed eaters, blowers, lawn mowers, pole pruners, hedge trimmers). Enforce adherence to DOT requirements for safe operation. Conduct quality inspections/audits on trucks, trailers, and equipment. Utilize and maintain an inventory management system. Always maintain a clean and organized shop. Ensure compliance with vehicle registration, insurance, and inspection. Collaborate with the Director of Fleet and Facilities in organizing the company yard, nursery, and facility. Provide input on buying and selling decisions for company equipment, vehicles, and tools. Collaborate with the Director of Fleet and Facilities to manage budgets for repairs and shop supplies. Required Skills and Behaviors: Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a team player. Professional appearance. Punctual with excellent attendance. Able and willing to work independently. Adherence to a drug-free workplace policy; pre-employment drug test and random testing required. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in outdoor conditions. Requirements: 3+ years of experience as a mechanic working on various fleet vehicles and small engine equipment. Proficient with basic vehicle mechanics and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and fleet management software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Clean driving record; ability to drive a company truck. U.S. work authorization. Work Conditions: Travel to and work at various locations, including North and South branches and construction sites. Flexible working hours, including occasional weekend work (only in extreme circumstances). Ability to work safely near heavy equipment and other vehicles regularly.
