Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for scheduling and performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on all company fleet vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred.
  • 1+ years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required.
  • 3+ years journeyman mechanic experience preferred.
  • Diesel and hydraulic experience preferred.
  • Experience with lift gates, roll-up doors, and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Must supply automotive hand tools (excluding heavy-duty or diagnostic tools).
  • Must have a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on all types of fleet equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles.
  • Perform mechanical repairs including engine repairs, clutches, some welding, electrical, greasing, transmission, and brake repairs.
  • Inspect hoses, belts, fluids, and wiring.
  • Respond to fleet service calls for 24-hour business needs; pick up and deliver vehicles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and D.O.T. inspections using prescribed checklists.
  • Identify and report all unsafe conditions.
