JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles and equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Fleet Mechanic will ensure that all vehicles are in optimal working condition to support our operations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair, particularly with heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Proficient in using power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic electrical knowledge related to vehicle systems is a plus.
  • Experience working with HVAC systems is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective customer service interactions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles, including trucks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they lead to breakdowns.
  • Utilize power tools and equipment safely and effectively during repair processes.
  • Repair HVAC systems as needed to ensure proper functioning of vehicle climate control.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members regarding vehicle status and repair timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on fleet vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and staff to improve operational efficiency.
