Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position, responsible leading Council’s fleet replacement procurement and purchasing, including:

  • engaging with fleet users, to capture their operational needs.
  • undertaking market research related to new and emerging zero emission vehicle technology and exploring options for use at Council.
  • leading new fleet and plant trials and evaluation.
  • managing procurement processes.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRE TO PERFORM THE ROLE

  • Experience in planning, procuring and maintaining diverse fleet vehicles and plant.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Able to manage time, plan and organise one’s own work to achieve objectives and goals in the most efficient way possible within the resources available and within a set timetable despite changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently with minimum supervision, using initiative and problem solving and collaboration skills to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Computer skills with knowledge of IT applications and packages.
  • Able to provide advice related to fleet purchasing.
  • Completion of a degree or diploma course in business management, logistics or related field with relevant experience, or less formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
