Description Position Summary The Fleet & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s vehicle fleet and safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role focuses on minimizing risk, improving fleet efficiency, reducing operating costs, and promoting a strong culture of safety across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, strong leadership skills, and at least five years of hands-on experience in fleet and safety management. Key Responsibilities Fleet Management Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the company’s vehicle fleet Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure vehicle reliability and compliance Manage vehicle acquisition, replacement schedules, leasing, and disposal Monitor fleet performance metrics, fuel usage, telematics, and operating costs Work with vendors, dealerships, and service providers to negotiate contracts and control costs Safety & Compliance Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide safety policies and procedures Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and other applicable regulations Lead accident investigation processes, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans Manage driver qualification files, licensing, training, and certifications Oversee drug and alcohol testing programs, including post-accident and random testing Training & Culture Design and deliver safety training programs for drivers and field personnel Promote a safety-first culture through coaching, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives Serve as a subject matter expert for safety-related questions and best practices Reporting & Risk Management Track and analyze safety incidents, claims, violations, and trends Prepare reports for leadership on fleet performance, safety metrics, and compliance status Collaborate with insurance providers on claims management and risk reduction strategies Qualifications Required Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, safety management, or a related role Strong working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA regulations Proven experience managing vehicle fleets and driver safety programs Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong communication and leadership abilities Preferred Bachelor’s degree in safety management, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field Professional certifications such as CSP, CDS, CAFM, or similar Experience with fleet management software and telematics systems Physical & Work Requirements Ability to conduct vehicle inspections and site visits as needed Occasional travel may be required What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and development A collaborative, safety-driven work environment #AuthorityHVAC
