FLEET SERVICES TECHNICIAN II
Truck & Coach Technician Certification AND Automotive Service Technician Certification (Class “A”)
Lines & Operations Division Fleet Department - Outside Staff Collective Agreement
Group VIII: $28.3375 to $47.2291/hour (May 1, 2024 rates)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Electrical and Maintenance Supervisor, the Fleet Services Technician II of the Fleet
Technician performs duties to ensure that all rolling stock and related powered equipment and tools are maintained, inspected, and or
repaired in a safe manner.
Responsibilities:
Carries out everyday duties related to the repair and maintenance of the utility’s fleet, including (but not limited to):
- Troubleshooting mechanical problems and completing repairs as necessary.
- Performing preventative maintenance on all types of vehicles.
- Completing brake, wheel seals, suspension, and steering component repairs.
- Completes power train troubleshooting and repair.
- Completes annual Mechanical Safety Inspections.
- Record keeping including documentation management activities for equipment repairs and or maintenance.
- Diagnoses and repairs hydraulic, electronic over hydraulic, engine and running gear problems.
- Provides field and roadside service.
- Performs minor body repair and painting to all equipment and vehicles.
- Completes welding and fabricating work as required.
- Ensures the maintenance of all small-powered equipment and tools.
- Procures necessary parts from vendors and maintains accurate records of transactions for settlement.
- Ensures that the fleet garage is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
