JOB SUMMARY:
Dentaid The Dental Charity is seeking a highly proactive and experienced Fleet Supervisor to manage the safe and efficient operation of our Mobile Dental Units (MDU) (7.5t and 3.5t vehicles). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements as well as scheduling MDU officers to drive the vehicles to clinics across the UK. There will be occasions when the Fleet Supervisor will have to cover for MDU Officer staff absences which may require overnight trips.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
· Experience with commercial fleet managements systems.

· Maintain a robust management system for fleet maintenance in line with operator licence obligations, liaising with contractors and scheduling servicing, MOT’s, lift and fire extinguisher inspections.
· Ensure that MDU officers comply with company policies, safety regulations, government and road traffic legislation.
· Support the coaching, training and performance management of drivers to maintain high operational standards.
· Scheduling and managing routine maintenance, repairs and inspection, prioritising and liaising with the MDU engineer, Dentaid staff or external contractors.
· Scheduling MDU Officers working trips and down time (to support the MDU engineer with maintenance and upkeep of vehicles).
· Provide advice on the operation of the MDUs to MDU Officers including training of new staff.
· Provide support to MDU Officers in the event of breakdown/recovery.
· Be part of the management team for the design and introduction into service of new or refurbished Mobile Dental Units.
· Undertake MDU Officer duties when required, driving vehicles to clinic locations, setting up ready for clinic (stabilising the vehicle with hydraulic legs, unstrapping clinical equipment and running up fixed or portable generators for electrical equipment) and repacking for onward travel.
