Fleet Supervisor LOCATION: Bolton, ON JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Equipment Manager - Eastern Canada, the Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing eastern fleet maintenance and day to day fleet activities, as well as supervising staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for supervising Road and Rail eastern fleet of 400+ trucks (ie. hi-rail, boom trucks, light trucks, etc.). Familiar with federal/provincial government regulations, Transport Canada obligations, and safety policies. Complies with OH&S safety standards. Responsible for plate validation tags, insurance slips. Responsible for maintaining correct fleet numbers set out by Fleet and Equipment Managers. Conducts internal audits on logbooks, ensuring daily circle checks are being performed. Ensures all fleet policies are implemented and adhered to as per our company policies. Maintains physical conditions of fleet by planning and implementing inspections. Consolidating Eastern fleet capital allocation process by working with regional teams at a detailed level. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshop; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Perform other duties as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills Strong computer skills are required with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Demonstrated customer service focus. Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment; self motivated. Effective and proven organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high pressure and demanding work environment. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Demonstrate ability to perform maturely and professionally ensuring complete confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrate the ability to think critically, act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems, and make decisions. JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in business administration, transportation administration or engineering and/or trades license 2-5 years of prior experience in fleet supervisory Experience working within the transport industry in the fields of safety records management/shipping (strong asset) Fleet experience with 300+ vehicles, safety management, developing standards, managing processes, reporting skills, analyzing information, equipment maintenance Experience in dealing with ministry of transportation in ON, NB NS and QC.
