Velocity Truck Rental & Leasing (VTRL) is looking for an Entry-Level Fleet Technician to join our team for following hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm! What You’ll Do: The Entry-Level P.M. Technician maintains the fleet operation by completing inspections in accordance with Federal, State and Corporate guidelines. Correcting minor vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments, alignments and replacements at the direction of Management. “See Required Activity/Skill List” Job Duties: Determines vehicle condition by conducting Preventive Maintenance Inspections; oil changes; chassis lubrication and identifying worn and damaged parts. Inspections to be performed both in shop and remotely to customer needs. Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades as directed, controlling corrosion and proper lubrication on each PM cycle. Corrects light repairs and vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling components, parts, or systems. Areas to include lighting, expendable equipment, air and electrical lines. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems. Performs tire repairs, replacements, rotations, mounting and dismounting on and off from vehicles as needed. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Keeps shop Service Trucks and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications. Performs all duties of lesser classification, and other work-related duties as directed.
