REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Aviation operations and aviation weather knowledge
  • Flexible schedule, most shifts are needed in the first 2 weeks of the month
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised during on-call, shift work, overnights, weekends, and long hours
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Ability to read and interpret aviation weather reports
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Strong communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Excel or Google Spreadsheets
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word or equivalent
  • Effective time management and multitasking
  • Analytical and organized, with excellent attention to detail

  • Strong computer skills and knowledge is an asset
  • Scheduling experience is an asset
  • Transport Canada PPL or CPL license is an asset
  • Data analysis skills are an asset

Responsibilities
  • Flight Following:
  • Coordinate with Chief Pilot to ensure safe practices are being followed and Transport Canada’s flight requirements are being adhered to
  • Coordinate with the Pilot-in-Command to ensure the flight is conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with all Canadian and foreign regulations, company policies, and procedures
  • Responsible for flight watch over all company flights
  • Collect weather and runway conditions for Flight Crew and Flight Operations management, reporting changes as required; monitor and relay as requested or when significant changes occur
  • Coordinate Irregular Operations (IROPS) actions, including delaying or canceling flights, crew coordination, FBO requirements, etc. and communicate both internally and externally
  • Carry out Flight Follower responsibilities in the Emergency Response Program
  • Operation of company data collection equipment and associated duties during aerial work flights
  • Specialize in mission familiarity and provide guidance to flight crew to maintain efficiencies targets
  • Quality assurance on operational data logging
  • Participate in the photographic inspection program during aerial survey projects
  • Technician: Assist in administrative tasks delegated by the Operations Manager such as
  • Data analysis and quality control
  • Right of Way and Aeroread project coordination
  • Fleet scheduling
  • Coordination with in-house maintenance program
  • Maintenance, repair, and upkeep of surveying hardware
  • Assist in technology projects and development of surveying technology
  • Other Information Technology tasks in coordination with in-house tech team
  • Any other duties and/or tasks as assigned by the Manager
