Description The Flight Operations Intern (FOI) position is located in the Operations Control Center and reports to the Director of Flight Services (DOFS). It is a paid position and expectations are a working schedule of 40 hours per week with varying days and shift hours to best allocate the learning experience as well as contributing to the resource needs of the department. Core responsibilities to include: · Flight Planning & Dispatch Support: Assist with monitoring weather conditions, preparing flight documentation, and reviewing flight plans. · Operational Data Analysis: Collect and analyze operational metrics, such as fuel data, flight delays, or pilot safety metrics and flight segment activity. · Regulatory Compliance: Help maintain aircraft historical records and aircraft flight logs. · Flight Administration, Flight Software & Publications: Support Flight Management in operational needs to outside departments and customers. · Communication & Coordination: Act as a liaison between other departmental employees, pilots, ground, and charter staff to ensure smooth information transfer. Requirements Essential Qualifications & Skills · Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or a related field. · Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and familiarity with flight planning systems like FlightAware or Jeppesen. · Aviation Knowledge: A foundational understanding of FAA regulations, weather reports (METARs/TAFs), and basic familiarization with Corporate aircrfaft. · Soft Skills: Extreme attention to detail, ability to communicate clearly , and proactive problem-solving. · Certifications (Optional): Private Pilot license Capstone Project · Concluding the internship, be prepared to present in some form an operational improvement business case for a particular software, business process, or operational need affecting operational quality and efficiency.
