THE OPPORTUNITY -
The AH-64E Apache is the world’s most advanced and proven attack helicopter. It integrates innovative technologies to aid the crew in decision making, offering a new level of battlefield dominance through enhanced performance, increased situational awareness, superior survivability, and improved target detection, acquisition and engagement.
We are seeking an experienced Flight Scheduler, to support the AH-64E Apache helicopter program. The Australian Apache’s will join the growing global fleet of more than 1280 aircraft operating in 18 countries, including coalition and regional partners. This role fulfils vital Scheduling and Programming the support tasks for aircrew training, related flight and simulator planning and administrative course reporting activities.
This role is based in Townsville working alongside BDA and Australian Army members.
We are seeking self-motivated professionals with scheduling, planning and coordination experience with a desire for a challenging and rewarding career with BDA. You will have experience in the following fields to complement our team:
- Resource and asset planning, scheduling and coordination experience, specifically, those with Aviation experience would be highly regarded.
- Experience in forward planning and coordinating multi-stakeholder schedules and managing competing priorities across teams.
As a Flight Scheduler at Boeing you will:
- Responsible for the support of planning, scheduling and coordination of tasks regarding Flight and Simulator Device training activities. This would be achieved by supporting the successful coordination of all training continuum course delivery schedules and pilot pathway events, including asset booking, simulator devices and live flight scheduling - forecasting ahead of the training program.
- Supporting coordination and re-scheduling efforts for all training event changes. Including supporting the requirement for a schedule risk assessment and alternative plan analysis, as well as providing reporting documentation to justify and support those changes. Including elevation of identifiable issues with respect to delays, changes or impacts pertaining to the scheduling within the flight training continuum.
- Provide administrative support to Course Manager’s for training initiation and completion, in accordance with AAvnTC Standard Operating Procedures and higher level policy, including PMKeyS usage.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential
- Proven scheduling or coordination experience in transport/logistics, rostering, or operations (flight scheduling desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication; able to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise, think quickly and make pragmatic decisions under pressure.
- Proven ability to analyse schedule conflicts and implement pragmatic mitigation plans.
- Comfortable using scheduling/roster systems and MS Office suite - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- A collaborative mindset and customer-service focus.
Desirable
- Exposure to Experience in aviation operations or crew rostering
- Experience with specialised scheduling software or ERP systems e.g Patriot Excalibur (PEX)
- Qualifications or clearances relevant to defence/aviation
- Understanding of Defence training reporting requirements
