We are on the lookout for a skilled Flight Simulator Operator to join our client, a UK-based Media Company. In this remote position, you will educate and create content for a Flight Simulator YouTube Channel focusing on incidents and crashes. Responsibilities Customise and optimise environments by adjusting weather conditions, time of day, and terrain to accurately recreate the desired atmosphere for each scene. Use in-game camera tools to capture dynamic angles, fly-bys, cockpit views, and wide shots to enhance the cinematic quality. Re-enact specific flight scenarios in line with real-world physics and aviation protocols to ensure realism in the shots. Collaborate closely with directors, storyboard artists, and editors to ensure shots match the creative vision and final cut requirements. Troubleshoot and refine simulations to ensure smoothness and accuracy during recording, especially in complex or technical scenes. Maintain consistency across shots in terms of aircraft positioning, lighting, and other environmental elements to ensure a cohesive final product. Passion for aviation with a strong desire to share knowledge with others. Ability to explain aviation topics in an engaging, enthusiastic, and easy-to-understand way. Advanced experience using flight simulation software such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and potentially other simulators like Prepar3D or Aerofly FS. Experience in content creation and production, including familiarity with working from shot lists and executing detailed production plans. Basic understanding of cinematography, camera angles, and scene composition to ensure high-quality output from flight simulators. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency across recorded scenes. Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with a production team to achieve the project’s vision.
