Description

As a flight test engineer at Auterion, you will work closely with developers and product teams to identify hardware and software issues, and test new features across the Auterion technology stack. You will assist with integration and testing of robotic systems from partner companies, as well as build and maintain internal flight test assets. This role also has a customer-facing component, as you will represent Auterion at flight-ops events like training classes and demonstrations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • BS in a relevant engineering field (robotics, computer science, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar).
  • Solid knowledge of PX4, Linux, and computer networking. The ability to contribute code is nice to have but not required.
  • Experience working on uncrewed systems and have a sharp eye for good user experiences. Be vocal and correct about “what right looks like” when it comes to UX and workflows.
  • Experience designing, building, testing, and tuning drones.
  • Working understanding of electronics and wiring, soldering, and mechanical integration to include 3D printing.
Responsibilities
  • Flight testing multiple platforms including multicopters, fixed-wings and VTOLs: fly, capture logs, submit bug reports, and provide feedback on new features.
  • Assemble and maintain an internal fleet of test assets, and become an expert on robotic systems from our partner OEMs.
  • Electrical and mechanical integration, modification, and prototyping. Mechanical design, 3D printing, soldering, assembly, mounting and wiring of electronic subassemblies.
  • Become deeply knowledgeable on Auterion hardware and software, including Skynode, PX4, AuterionOS, Auterion Mission Control, and Auterion Suite.
  • Assist with writing technical documentation, to include operators manuals and test procedures.
