Description 10k SOB!!! Full Time; Days/Nights History: Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital. Summary of Responsibilities: Cover open shifts, both day or night, in patient care departments wherever there is a need to ensure adequate staffing levels. Has principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge process of each assigned patient to attain optimal health and continuity of care. The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating care delegated to non-licensed personnel ensuring that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment. Requirements Job Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Knowledge of nursing theories and practices. Effective oral and written communications skills. Current Registered Nurse license certified by the State of Texas required. PALS, TNCC and ACLS preferred. One (1) year experience as a Professional Registered Nurse in a hospital environment preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification. Requirements: Must be available to work all shifts. Must be available to cover open shifts, both day and night, wherever there is a need to ensure adequate staffing levels. Must be available to respond and report to work within two (2) hours when called upon due to staffing situation demands. Work a minimum of 36 hours per work week. Attendance will be considered a part of the performance standard. Poor attendance (two (2) cancellations of scheduled work, and/or two (2) declinations of requests to work during staffing situation demands) may be considered grounds for removal of Float Pool position.
