Description General Summary: Assists in managing daily store operations to achieve established revenue and margin objectives. Contributes to the DGR mission by generating funds that support community members in living, working, and thriving through housing, employment, and supportive services. Provides operational leadership across multiple locations and travels to stores as needed to support teams and fill operational gaps when vacancies arise. Supervisory responsibilities: Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains direct reports to ensure strong team performance. Oversees daily departmental operations to maintain efficiency and operational excellence. Provides timely, constructive feedback and conducts performance evaluations to support employee development. Manages employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policies and procedures. Requirements Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Monitors service standards, product levels, and operational safety while managing within budgeted expenses to advance the Goodwill mission and brand. Oversees cash controls and asset protection practices, ensuring employee compliance with policies and procedures. Delivers best-in-class customer service for internal and external customers and coaches team members to do the same. Manages production flow and staff productivity, actively supporting operations to maximize product output and donation value. Plans and organize employee schedules to meet operational and business demands. Ensures a continuous flow of new merchandise to the sales floor, maintaining a fresh and full presentation through effective production output and merchandise rotation. Supports production setup and material handling to efficiently generate quality and quantity of merchandise that meets projected sales goals. Partners with Talent Acquisition and the Store Manager to proactively build and develop the team, supporting interviews, onboarding, and training initiatives. Collaborates with leadership to foster a positive, high-performing team environment through motivation, training, and coaching. Uses coaching, feedback, and documentation to reinforce strong performance and address performance issues in partnership with the Store Manager. Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders. Conducts audits and training to ensure adherence to workplace safety and loss prevention standards. Analyzes operational reports and data to identify trends and recommend tactical improvements to the Store Manager. Assumes Store Manager responsibilities in their absence to ensure continuity of operations. Performs all duties in alignment with Goodwill’s Core Values. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and software. Ability to quickly assess operational needs, prioritize effectively, and confidently lead business operations in the absence of the Store Manager or other leadership team members. Required education and/or work experience: Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible retail supervisory experience. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework or degree preferred.
