We are currently seeking a compassionate and adaptable Floating Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher to join our team and support a high-quality, developmentally appropriate program for young children, in full alignment with California early childhood education standards. In this role, you will work across various classrooms, stepping in as needed to provide consistent, nurturing care and education to children aged 0–5.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Must meet California Department of Social Services/Community Care Licensing requirements for an ECE Teacher, including:
  • Completion of 12 semester units in early childhood education or child development, including core courses in:
  • Child Growth and Development
  • Child, Family, and Community
  • Programs/Curriculum
  • At least 6 months of experience working in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program.
  • Licensing: Must possess or be eligible for a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • Health and Safety: Must pass a health screening, including a tuberculosis test, and obtain fingerprint clearance prior to employment.
  • Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work in various classrooms and adapt to changing needs within the center.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Prior experience working with children aged 0–5 in a licensed childcare setting.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in a language other than English, particularly Spanish, is a plus.
  • Additional Certifications: Mandated Reporter Training certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of walking, standing, bending, squatting and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Able to move quickly to respond to children’s needs and to ensure child safety.
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Classroom Support: Step into different classrooms as needed, providing support to lead teachers and ensuring consistent, high-quality educational experience for all children.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Assist in the delivery of play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes exploration, discovery, and meaningful learning.
  • Child Engagement: Foster strong relationships with children, supporting their social-emotional development and encouraging positive behavior.
  • Family Communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with families, supporting their involvement in the learning process.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities and interactions comply with California Department of Social Services/Community Care Licensing regulations and Title 5 and/or Title 22 requirements.
  • Professional Development: Participate in required training sessions, professional development sessions, and team planning meetings.
