This position will float between properties as needed. This position includes a monthly gas allowance. $1000 SIGN ON BONUS Our comprehensive benefits package includes: Medical, vision and dental insurance - Free of cost to the employee only (Family plans are available) Life/AD&D insurance- Free of cost to the employee only Long and short-term disability - Free of cost to the employee only Paid vacation time Paid holidays Paid sick/Personal time Weekly pay Retirement plan 401 (k) plan with employer match up to 4%, automatic enrollment Discount of 20% on an apartment at any one of our properties Yearly Red Wing boot allowance of $175 Free access to pool and fitness center at any of our properties Overtime pay is available Training and certification opportunities Duties and Responsibilities include: Exhibiting strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer Communicating and working well with both leasing and maintenance staff members Always representing the company in a professional and courteous manner Perform routine maintenance tasks, service requests, turnovers, preventative maintenance to units and common areas as well as any other duties assigned Sharing on-call responsibility Diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical and plumbing related issues Providing own (basic) hand tools Maintaining a clean and safe work environment Attending in-house training as required Maintaining current preventative maintenance property logs The ideal candidate will have: Ability to use of standard hand and power tools safely Ability to lift and move of heavy items (water heaters, appliances, rock salt, shovel snow etc.) Knowledge to perform routine, preventative maintenance Knowledge and practice of a variety of building trade skills Ability to work on step/extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols Responsibility to complete work orders in a timely manner and maintain inventory and a clean and stocked shop Ability to identify safety and hazardous conditions and communicate any issues Follow company operational and safety procedures Ability to work an on-call schedule as required A positive, team-oriented attitude and understand and follow Westover Companies core values Reliable work ethic and dependable transportation; must maintain valid driver’s license and working vehicle
