We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Floating Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Operations in Edmonton, Alberta.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective distribution of medications while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacy operations, and medication administration. As a Floating Pharmacist, you will work closely with healthcare professionals at the assigned Medicine Place locations and assist the dedicated teams to support patient needs.

EDUCATION

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BSc Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • License: Current registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
  • License: Injection Certification and valid CPR certification
  • Preferred: Additional Prescribing Authority
    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
    Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 32 per week

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient focused clinical services as deemed eligible and appropriate for the patients and document accordingly
  • Float to assigned Medicine Place locations within the area to help cover Pharmacy Departments
  • Administer injections/immunizations
  • Accurately dispense all prescriptions - including verifying and checking prescriptions
  • Provide professional advice and applicable dialogue with patients on prescription and OTC products
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy assistants
  • Counsel of patients in regards to new and additional medications
  • Other tasks necessary to the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy
