Floer Fellow (3+3 years) as an Academic Council (m/f/d)
The Floer Centre of Geometry (FCG) at Ruhr University Bochum was established in 2011 to advance research across various branches of geometry. The centre serves as a collaborative hub for mathematicians and fosters a vibrant research environment, contributing to the advancement of geometric sciences. The research group for Algebra and Topology invites applications for a Floer Fellowship in the form of a position as an Academic Council (Akademischer Rat auf Zeit).
Scope: full-time

YOUR PROFILE:
We are looking for a person conducting independent research in a current area of Algebra or Topology, ideally in interaction with existing working groups. The appointee should be able to pursue research projects with commitment, focus, and scientific independence. Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary work, autonomy, team spirit, and excellent communications skills are necessary prerequisites.
The successful applicant is expected to contribute to teaching in the universities mathematics, science, and engineering degree programmes, supervising graduate students in mathematics, and participating in the organisation of workshops. The teaching load is in accordance with §3 Lehrverpflichtungsordnung NRW (which means 4 hours/week).
