Floor Care Attendant performs deep cleaning, special cleaning projects and carpet/upholstery shampooing in all areas of the hotel, indoors and out, when it is scheduled and create the least amount of impact to the guest experience. What you will be doing: Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service Maintain cleanliness and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment used Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public. Manage the movement of products/equipment/materials in and/or out of main housekeeping supply rooms Assisting Supervisor in completion of special requests or misc. projects Carpet/upholstery extraction and spotting Marble floor polishing Stripping and waxing of VCT flooring Use of extension ladders for high dusting Using low-speed floor machine to scrub pool deck, restrooms, BOH hallways, etc. Treatment of mold and mold spores Polishing of metal, brass and cooper surfaces Cleaning of areas that are difficult to reach Removal of drapes, furniture, rugs or any other items that need to be sent out for specialized cleaning Sign in and out master keys, radios/mobile electronics daily Be familiar with department’s technology and communication platforms, and utilize to ensure hotel operation and guest satisfaction Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office Follow all departmental policies and procedures and service standards Report necessary maintenance items Adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies Follow all safety and sanitation policies Other duties as assigned What is in it for you: Discounted hotel rooms and food & beverage rates to employees at our sister properties around the globe. Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21 and WATCH Hourly Rate: $32.25 (Break-In Rate applicable for New Hires as per CBA) Schedule based on Seniority and Business Needs Qualifications Your experience and skills include: Ability to follow instruction, work with others and work independently Ability to communicate fluently with our guests Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision Previous Customer Service experience an asset Previous Cleaning or janitorial experience an asset Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Integrity and works well when Supervisors are not present Ability to manage own time efficiently Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and machinery Ability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies Ability to use basic cleaning equipment Ability to identify different types of floor surfaces, including types of natural stone Familiarity with different floor care machines Familiarity with different floor pad materials and roughness Familiarity with natural stone restoration Familiarity with maintenance and care of heavy equipment and machinery found in floor care Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Highly responsible and reliable Ability to follow instruction, provide support to the Housekeepers and work independently without supervision Some spoken and written English Additional Information Your team and working environment: What was true in 1966 remains true to this day: The Century Plaza Hotel is part of a visionary development intent on doing what others could only imagine.
