Ravenwood Specialty Care, a 100-bed long-term care skilled nursing community located in Waterloo, IA, is now hiring! Care Initiatives is seeking a dependable Floor Care Technician to join our housekeeping team at Ravenwood Specialty Care. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. What You’ll Do Perform routine and deep floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, stripping, waxing, and buffing Clean resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, and common spaces Safely operate floor care equipment and use cleaning chemicals per guidelines Follow infection control, safety, and MSDS protocols Identify and report damaged flooring, trip hazards, or equipment issues Support special cleaning projects and emergency cleanups as needed Work respectfully in resident-occupied areas and collaborate with the care team What We’re Looking For Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong attention to detail and time management skills Positive attitude, professionalism, and teamwork Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or commercial cleaning is a plus (but not required) Physical & Work Environment Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and PPE Exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential infectious materials Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting Regular interaction with residents and staff in a healthcare setting Reporting Structure Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor Supervises: None Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, Care Initiatives will honor your experiences, perspectives, and unique identity.
