About your new role We’re seeking a proactive and collaborative Floor Coordinator to provide operational oversight of our Operating Suite in the evenings at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne, Fitzroy. This part-time role is 22.5 hours per week (three evening shifts). You will coordinate theatre flow and resources to ensure safe, efficient after-hours operations and an excellent experience for patients, clinicians and caregivers. Key responsibilities Coordinate evening theatre lists, room allocations and turnaround to meet clinical priorities. Lead and support perioperative teams; model a calm, solutions-focused approach. Manage staffing allocations and skill mix; escalate and problem-solve in real time. Partner with Surgeons, Anaesthetists, NUMs and the After-Hours Manager to optimise throughput and patient safety. Monitor clinical standards, patient flow and documentation; support timely handover. Liaise with Sterilising Services, Recovery and Ward areas to maintain continuity of care. Contribute to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives. About you You are an engaging leader who communicates clearly, collaborates broadly and thrives in a dynamic environment. Your skills and experience include: Minimum 5 years’ perioperative experience. Previous leadership/management experience in theatres. Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing/Management (desirable). Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and support teams. Excellent written and verbal communication and sound clinical judgement. Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (or relevant clinical registration).
