Description
  • Be a part of a brand new historic pub
  • Training and development opportunties

With a rich history dating back to 1814, the heritage building on the corner of Argyle and Macquarie has been a cornerstone of the Hobart community for generations. Its role has continually adapted to meet the needs and expectations of the local community, including its evolution from the city’s first post office into a beloved pub in 1851. Throughout this rich history, it has remained an integral part of the community’s fabric – the place to meet and, more recently, to dine.
As we embark on this new chapter, our commitment is to respect the heritage of this pub and uphold its legacy as a welcoming gathering place for all. Our ethos centres around a thoughtfully curated food and beverage offering that caters to both traditional and diverse tastes at affordable prices. Our menu and bar will feature local produce sourced through ongoing collaborations with supply partners, allowing us to bring you the best in contemporary modern Australian pub fare.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Experience leading teams in a busy Pub, Venue or Restaurant in Tasmania as a Floor Manager or Restaurant Manager
  • Ability to lead an award winning service team
  • Experience managing liquor licencing, RSA, Food Safety and WHSE requirements
  • Confidence in managing budgets, rosters, procurement
  • Commitment to maintaining a high level of food safety and WHSE
  • First aid would be beneficial (willingness to obtain essential)
The pub will be opening in September, and you will receive extensive training on our wine list, menu and operations prior to opening. Service is expected be lunch and dinner with average shifts around 6 hours. The property will be open most days midday to 10pm (Thursday to Saturday until midnight, Sunday is lunch service only), these times are a guide as the venue opening times may vary.
This is your chance to be part of something special—where historical significance meets modern hospitality and incredible produce. We’re looking for enthusiastic locals who love great food, quality drinks, and exceptional service.
