Responsibilities

PURPOSE

As Floor Supervisor, you are an integral part of the front-of-house leadership team, reporting to the Restaurant Manager. You lead daily service on the floor, ensuring smooth operations and delivering consistently high levels of guest experience. This is a hands-on role where presence, energy, and attention to detail are essential. You support the training and development of the front-of-house team, manage service delivery and floor operations, and maintain a service culture aligned with our vision of World Class Hospitality. Acting as a key link between restaurant management and the wider team, you set the tone for each service and uphold the highest standards.
The restaurant is a timeless British brasserie within an iconic landmark building — a marquee restaurant and bar that reflects the high standards of the National Theatre itself. The menu showcases the very best of British produce: shellfish from Devon, Cornwall, and the north coast of Scotland, beef and lamb from the Lake District, and vegetables and salads from small organic farms across Kent. The bar offers a list of traditional cocktails alongside a large-format wine list, balancing classic varietals with modern natural wine styles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee daily floor service, ensuring smooth, efficient operations and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership during service, setting high standards and supporting the team in real time.
  • Train, coach, and empower front-of-house staff with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to deliver consistent quality.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and detail-focused working environment that reflects company values.
  • Manage operational procedures including opening/closing, reporting, stock control, and compliance records.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and sustainability across all service areas.
  • Engage with guests, providing accurate menu/allergen information and resolving issues promptly.
  • Support the Restaurant Manager with events, promotions, and wider service or business initiatives.
