Description Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Management: Assist in supervising and training team members to maintain excellent customer service and productivity standards. Support staff scheduling to ensure the department is efficiently staffed, particularly during peak times. Provide coaching, feedback, and support to enhance employee performance and growth. Assist in conducting performance reviews to evaluate development and identify training needs. Inventory & Product Management: Help with ordering for the department to ensure high-quality, diverse stock and appropriate inventory levels. Monitor product storage conditions, ensuring proper hydration and cooling. Rotate stock to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Work with the team to ensure product displays are visually appealing and aligned with trends. Customer Service: Greet customers and assist with various inquiries in selecting flowers, bouquets, and arrangements tailored to their needs to ensure a positive personalized experience. Process customer orders and ensure timely and accurate delivery. Maintain high customer service standards. Health & Safety: Support the implementation of safety protocols for the department, ensuring compliance with company policies. Oversee sanitation and cleanliness of equipment and workspaces. Assist in training staff on safety procedures for handling flowers, tools, and equipment. Financial Performance & Budgeting: Assist in managing the department’s budget by tracking sales, purchases, inventory, and labor costs. Help monitor department performance against budget goals, ensuring profitability. Assist with tracking employee time and ensuring payroll aligns with the labor budget. Minimize shrinkage by ensuring proper inventory handling, rotation, and receiving procedures. Marketing & Promotion: Support the planning and execution of seasonal promotions and sales to increase department visibility and sales. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the floral department both in-store and online. Assist with strategies to attract new customers and retain loyal clientele. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; floral experience preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of floral care, types, and trends. Basic math skills and computer proficiency in Google Suites preferred. Ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism. Ability to travel between locations as needed. Desirable Qualifications Formal floral training is preferred Gift shop experience Customer service experience Working Conditions and Physical Demands, and Availability Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Exposure to cool temperatures, water, and cleaning chemicals. Use of floral tools and equipment - knives, scissors, pallet jack, etc. Flexibility to work evenings, every other weekend, holiday and peak seasons.
