Wilson Farm is hiring a full-time Floral Designer to join our great floral team. This position has an hourly rate of pay of $22-24 based on experience. Primary Responsibilities for a Floral Designer Designing and arranging flowers and decorative items to create standard, holiday, and customized floral arrangements, corsages, boutonnieres, etc. within specific price points Maintaining floral vitality of all inventories including watering, cutting, and pruning floral inventory Assisting with inventory and ordering of fresh flowers and supplies from wholesalers Assisting with housekeeping tasks including sweeping, cleaning, and restocking floral inventory as assigned by the Floral Manager Possible client contact and sales responsibility as business needs require; advising customers and colleagues on suitable floral arrangements as well as on flower care and maintenance requirements Keeping abreast of emerging styles and trends in floral design Experience/Qualifications needed Previous designing experience and/or training in floral design a must (floral experience at florist or retail floral shop etc. a huge plus). Must have experience with weddings, sympathy arrangements, day to day designing, etc. Knowledgeable about a wide variety of flowers. Capable of using various floral techniques. Excellent customer service skills including ability to deliver information in a clear and concise manner to customers. Candidate must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills; must take pride in their finished work and have an excellent work ethic; and must have an enthusiastic, positive attitude. Work Schedule Full-time (45-50 hours/week) Will be a mix of weekdays, weekend, and holiday days Holiday periods may require more hours and flexibility in schedule to meet business needs Physical Requirements Standing/bending/reaching for periods of time Be able to lift/carry approximately 25+ lbs.
