At WeQuel, we are looking for a Senior Scientist to join our consulting team for an exciting assignment at AstraZeneca, where you will play a critical role in developing future preclinical models to support the discovery of life-changing medicines.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a consulting role through WeQuel, where you will work as part of AstraZeneca’s Microphysiological Systems (MPS) team at their dynamic R&D site in Gothenburg. The MPS team leverages advanced cell models, microfluidic chip technologies, and flow cytometry to enhance the development of therapies for Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolic (CVRM) diseases. Your role will be to design, optimize, and execute flow cytometry-based assays while collaborating with researchers to establish and refine advanced cell models.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute flow cytometry (FACS) assays for cell characterization and functional analysis, including panel design.
- Design, conduct, and report studies using advanced cell models and Microphysiological Systems (MPS).
- Perform various downstream analyses, such as ELISA, qPCR, staining, imaging, and high-content analysis.
- Support model development to generate robust data for mechanism of action studies, target identification, and drug evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality scientific data.
