Job Title: FTL/LTL Sales Manager (Start-up Company - New Jersey)
Location: New Jersey (Remote/Hybrid options may apply)

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic FTL/LTL Sales Manager to join our rapidly growing start-up based in New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the sales and growth of both Full Truck Load (FTL) and Less Than Truck Load (LTL) and Drayage services in a new market. You will focus on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their transportation needs, and providing tailored logistics solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the launch and expansion of our services in New Jersey and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Identify and target new business opportunities for FTL and LTL services. Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to acquire clients in the New Jersey market.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients. Understand customer needs and create customized solutions to meet those needs.
  • Lead Generation: Proactively generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events. Utilize CRM tools to track and manage sales activities and customer information.
  • Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Negotiation & Proposal Development: Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with clients while ensuring that service level agreements are met.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operations, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Provide accurate sales forecasts, track performance against targets, and report on progress to senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of proven sales experience in FTL and LTL transportation or logistics, preferably within a start-up or fast-paced environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of transportation and logistics industry, including supply chain solutions, freight pricing, and regulations.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Other: Self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to thrive in a start-up environment. Ability to travel as required.
