Description
Position reports to Dearborn, MI office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. Responsible for all fluid fill systems for Ford final assembly plants in North America. Own the equipment tooling and process standards as well as process control plans, reaction plans, manufacturing requirements and PFMEAs. Study new program content and perform DFM and feasibility studies to determine best layout and equipment and process design. Responsible for costing out new programs' fluid fill equipment, including new, kit and modifications to legacy existing equipment. Lead the development of statements of work and issue purchase orders to tier 1 suppliers for the design and build of fluid fill systems. Provide support and expertise to current production calls. Support and coordinate root-cause analysis with internal plant personal and external suppliers and communicate with all levels of leadership. Work collaboratively with respective VIS counterparts, plant maintenance, vehicle launch engineers, tier 1 suppliers, layout engineers, process and tooling engineers and industrial engineers. Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in the position offered or 1 year of experience performing launch and root cause analysis of equipment related failures impacting medium to high volume production plants. Also requires 1 year of experience: installing or commissioning fluid fill tooling systems; working with tier 1 automotive suppliers; and using one of the following 2D and 3D visualization tools: Teamcenter, NX or AutoCAD.
