Description

Dependable Truck & Tank Limited was founded in 1975 and is, as it was, a family owned and operated business. Our innovative design and engineering concepts allow us to manufacture highway tankers, trailers, and emergency vehicles to our client’s specifications. Along with our manufacturing capabilities, Dependable is a large supplier of petroleum equipment for both the carrier and contractor industries in both commercial and residential installs.
We are seeking an experienced Flux Core Welder with experience in a custom fabrication and welding environment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings to produce strong, clean welds that meet our high-quality standards.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling custom components onto heavy truck chassis, specializing in highway petroleum cargo tankers and related equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 3 years of FCAW welding experience, preferably in tank fabrication or heavy steel manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to work from blueprints and raw materials to produce finished parts
  • Proficient in using welding tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to work from technical drawings and welding symbols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • CWB certification in FCAW welding is an asset (or willingness to obtain).
  • Own basic tools required for welding and fabrication
  • Experience with confined space welding on pressure vessels is considered an asset
Responsibilities
  • Perform Flux Core (FCAW) welding on steel tank components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Operating machine shop tools such as brake presses, drill presses, shears, plasma torch, chop saw, hand drills, and grinders.
  • Using welding gauges, grinders, scrapers, torches, and other equipment.
  • Inspect and test welds to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.
