Description The Family Medicine clinic physician focuses on utilizing a holistic approach to patient care with emphasis on health promotion & patient education/counseling as well as supporting direct care staff through education and mentorship with the shared goal of providing exceptional patient care to a mixed population of community patients in the associated clinics locates in Kern County. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Plan and carry out medical care programs for children from birth through elder care to aid in mental and physical growth and development. Examine patients to determine the presence of disease and to establish preventative health practices; determine nature and extent of disease or injury. Prescribe, and administer medications and immunizations, and perform a variety of medical duties. Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' condition. Hours may vary, call and some weekends required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Medical doctor degree or foreign equivalent, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine, and California Medical license or ability to obtain.
