The Lead Hospitality Assistant position exists to oversee the hospitality staff during a specified shift, serve as the point of contact for all guest food related needs in the absence of the Hospitality Manager, and assist the Hospitality Manager in training new staff and upholding standards with existing staff.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass a Post Offer Pre-hire Physical exam
  • Must be able to work 40+ hours per week as needed
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • In the event of staff shortages or emergencies, must be able to assist in Housekeeping
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 25lbs
  • Must be able to bend and reach above head
  • Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity
  • Some exposure to gases, odors, fumes, and sharp utensils
  • Occasional holiday and weekend work is required

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma
  • 1-2 years of experience in dealing with the public and in food preparation and management
  • Must have Serve Safe and Chemical Training certifications
  • Supervisory experience helpful

    Pay Range: $12.88 to $14.82/hr.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Is responsible for the operations of the assigned shift in the Hospitality area, ensuring that FMI provides each guest with an experience that is characterized by highly attentive service, excellent food and beverages, and cleanliness
Assists the Hospitality Manager in developing and training staff on procedures for cooking, food service, food handling, and safety that are compliant with standards set by the County Health Department. Ensures that all Hospitality Assistants are trained in ServeSafe and other required training programs as necessary
Actively participates in food preparation and service, demonstrating culinary and guest service expertise and leadership
Assists Hospitality Manager with inventory management and controlling food costs
Collaborates with Hospitality Manager in the creation of menu items and recipes, considering dietary restrictions, trends, and guest preferences
Responds promptly to guest feedback and dietary requests, including allergies, ensuring meals are prepared safely and to satisfaction
Is responsible for following food safety guidelines set by the County Health Department
Receives and inventories deliveries from all vendors
Is knowledgeable each week of the special dietary needs of guests that range from preference to life-threatening food allergies and informs the Hospitality team on shift of these special needs to ensure the wellbeing and experience of guests
Ensures Hospitality work and guest areas are clean, well maintained, and free of safety hazards
Maintains the cleanliness of the interior and exterior areas of the Hospitality Center, including the daily and weekly cleaning of floors, windows, and bathrooms
Is attentive to the condition of the physical property and systems and quickly reports all maintenance concerns to General Manager
Is fully trained in the established housekeeping standards for all guest spaces, assists with housekeeping as requested, and leads in word and example, all staff members in the importance of maintaining these high standards
Is sensitive to know when areas are off limits for cleaning due to noise
Does laundry, as needed
Attends and maintains Chemical Training
