Description:

Overview
Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, this position will assist in the day to day operations such as organizing, planning and implementing new strategies within the restaurant to ensure guest experience is seamless and the restaurant is running at maximum profitability. You will be responsible for any given tasks put forward by the
Restaurant Manager. Ravine provides an employee-oriented culture and strives for high performance in all departments. The position would be responsible for exemplifying these standards throughout the property on a regular basis.
Role and Responsibilities
Restaurant
- Deliver superior guest services and ensure absolute customer satisfaction.
- Oversees daily operations of the restaurant and maintains high standards in all areas; organizes and supervises employees during shifts.
- Adjusts shifts throughout business day to ensure department operates within budgeted labour % established.
- Respond efficiently to customer complaints.
- Provide in the moment coaching and performance correction in a timely manner.
- Enforce and offer the best quality of products possible.
- Appraise personnel’s performance and provide feedback to keep them upbeat and productive.
- Monitor compliance with sanitation and safety rules and regulations.
- Control costs and minimize waste.
- Nurture a positive working environment and lead by example.
- Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions.
- Continually look to food service trends and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Coach/mentor direct reports and provide regular feedback on performance.
- Promote Ravine and its products at every available opportunity.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of product and styles of food services offered.
- Participate in promotional and public relations functions, tastings and educational sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
People & Culture
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, managing and off boarding staff within the FOH team.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and direction to FOH team.
- Provides positive motivators to team to ensure customer experience and financial goals are being met.
- Assist with performance reviews, giving meaningful feedback on performance and potential.
- Share accountability for overall engagement, productivity, turnover and bench strength of team.
- Ensures constant communication with staff and peers, holding regular meetings and training sessions to ensure alignment of priorities and goals.

Educational & Experience Requirements
- Smart Serve Certificate is required.
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience within the service industry.
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Communication: This position requires excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills.
- Customer Service: Willing to go above and beyond to achieve customer satisfaction; personable.
- Leadership: Able to delegate, control a fast paced environment, strong decision making skills.
- Technological: Experience with reservation software; Office Suite.
- Physical: Will be required to go long periods without rest, occasionally lift or move objects over 50LBS.
Working Conditions
- Scheduled hours include holidays, weekends and evenings as operations require.
