Description
    Central Research Inc., is seeking a Freedom of Information Act Analyst (FOIA) to support one of our Federal Clients in Washington, D.C. The analyst will be part of a team that provides FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) processing and internal and external consulting services.   Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Provide FOIA and Privacy Act (PA) reviews and process pending complex FOIA cases * Review, organize, and analyze documents for production in response to FOIA requests * Determine responsive records * Coordinate proposed disclosures of information for several entities within the agency * Redact documents in accordance with agency specifications and entity FOIA protocols which include annotating appropriate FOIA exemptions on records * Generate draft response letters to requestors detailing the FOIA review and release determination * Maintain complete and detailed case notes on assigned cases * Support agency litigation efforts   Required Education and Experience Qualifications: * 5 years of FOIA processing experience * Bachelor’s Degree * U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency required per the contact * Ability to successfully obtain and retain the clearance required by the client   Preferred Education and Experience Qualifications: * 5 years of FOIA processing experience * Bachelor’s Degree   Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Knowledge of the FOIA, its procedural requirements and application of FOIA Exemptions * Knowledge of legal interpretations of the FOIA as it affects exemptions, and release of documents * Knowledge of the Privacy Act * Proficiency in managing and processing FOIA requests in the FOIAXpress software system * Strong research and analytical skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels * Working knowledge of personal computers and software (Microsoft Word and Adobe) * Ability to handle multiple tasks within specified deadlines * Excellent case management and time management skills * Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications * Proficient use of Adobe Acrobat Pro, * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Attention to detail   Other Requirements: *     Equal Opportunity Employer: Equal Opportunity Employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
