A Hiab Driver’s main responsibility is to operate our crane truck in a safe, efficient, and professional manner while delivering civil construction related materials to our respected sites.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Hiab Certified with Class 1 or 3 license. Transportation of dangerous goods an ASSET
Knowledge of principles and practices of highway safety, risk management, and HIAB operation. - Required.
Able to access the area/situation visually and mentally process what crane operations need to be done or avoided due to safety concerns or restrictions, i.e. powerlines, job site conditions, crane extensions limitations, soil. conditions, embankments, underground utilities, etc.
Strong hand-eye coordination, depth perceptions and finger dexterity required for precise operation with crane remote control.
Ability to recognize different handling techniques required for various products, where chains may be used as opposed to slings.
Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
Must be able to work up to 8 hours a day, 5 days / week including overtime and Saturdays as required.
Operating HIAB cranes within BC Association for Crane Safety operational standards.
Deliver supplies and materials, while securing cargo during transport.
Maintains cell contact with Operations coordinator throughout the day regarding alternative instructions.
Process truck logs and record of materials/ supplies transported, along with other required paperwork.
Conduct pre-trip truck inspections to maintain truck and crane is operating properly and notifying shop foreman and operations coordinator for any required repairs or maintenance.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
