THE 5* GLENLO ABBEY HOTEL, GALWAY (PART OF THE MHL HOTEL COLLECTION) IS CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE ASSISTANTS (FULL TIME, 5 DAYS FROM SEVEN) .

Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate is located on the banks of Lough Corrib on a 138-acre estate with the original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740’s. The Hotel comprises of 74 bedrooms including 6 suites, 11 Luxury Self-Catering Lodges, Corrib Room (catering for meetings, events, and weddings for up to 170 guests), River Room Restaurant, Palmers Bar and Kitchen, 2AA Rosette Pullman Restaurant (set aboard original Dining Carriages from the Orient Express), Glo Spa & Wellness, a 9 Hole Christy O’Connor Jr designed Championship Golf course and a 21 bay driving range

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that scheduled rosters are followed accordingly and arrive on time for duty.
  • Availability to work a flexible roster including evening and weekend work.
  • Ensure that grooming standards are adhered to as per the hotel’s grooming policy.
  • Undertake general waiting and service duties of food and beverages.
  • Prepare set ups for tables and/or rooms as directed by your Manager.
  • Communicate and liaise with team members, kitchen and other areas of operation to ensure any tasks have been completed as agreed.
  • Ensure that guests receive immediate recognition in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure that guests are always offered assistance or service even outside of departmental duties.
  • Manage all guest requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support the manager & your team in providing the highest possible standards at all times.
  • Ensure that colleagues are supported at all times and that any new team members are given full support during their inductions and thereafter.
  • To attend training sessions and to follow all standards of procedures (SOP) as set out by the Restaurant Manager and Food & Beverage Manager
  • Follow cash handling procedures as per company standard.
  • To occasionally assist and support other departments where needed.
