ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in a hospitality or café environment with a focus on customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation, including barista skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and presentation.
  • Familiarity with operating a cash register and managing cash & eftpos transactions.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Join us in this casual role, as a Food & Beverage Attendant, where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the front-of-house café, providing outstanding service, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will be expected to actively promote and embody SMCT’s values while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome and greet incoming customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages, including barista coffee, according to the highest standards.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for logging orders and processing payments.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable café area, including the front terrace and display cabinets.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all food and beverage handling.
  • Replenish and stock fridges and cabinets with food and beverage supplies.
  • Assist with café opening and closing procedures as required.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Support the team in the preparation of food and beverages for special functions and events.Participate in stock management, including flagging items for reorder and assisting with stocktaking.
