What’s the job?
We’re seeking a Café Attendant / Food and beverage attendant to join our hospitality team at the Flinders Street Campus.
In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality café and food service experiences for students, staff and guests. Working alongside the Café Manager and team, you’ll maintain best-practice café operations, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to the success of campus events and functions.
This is a hands-on role that combines service, teamwork, and compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver excellent service to students and guests across café and food outlets.
  • Ensure food and beverage standards align with industry best practice.
  • Support delivery of internal and external campus events.
  • Collaborate with the Café Manager to continuously improve service and product.
  • Maintain compliance with WHS, first aid, and food safety requirements.
  • Represent Torrens University in a professional manner with staff, students and external partners.

We are looking for

  • Previous food and beverage or café experience (hospitality or education setting desirable).
  • Commitment to delivering excellent service and a positive guest experience.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across café service and events.
  • Awareness of food safety, WHS and compliance standards.
  • A proactive attitude with good judgment to escalate issues when required.
