Position Title: Winter Seasonal Host Reports to: Floor Supervisor / Restaurant Manager Wage: $19.50/ph Position: Seasonal Contract October – Early April / Hourly Position Position Overview: The Winter Seasonal Host is the first point of contact for guests and plays a critical role in setting the tone for the dining experience. This role is responsible for warmly greeting and seating guests, managing waitlists and reservations and supporting front-of-house operations through communication and organization. In addition to traditional hosting duties; the host may also be required to assist with food running, drink delivery and side duties during peak times to support smooth service. Experience and Requirements: * 6+ months of experience in a restaurant, café, or customer service environment. * Previous experience hosting or guest greeting preferred. * Familiarity with reservation systems (Open Table) is an asset. * Must be at least 19 years of age. * Valid Serving It Right Certificate required. * Ability to lift 25lbs and assist with light service duties. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy setting. * Prior experience in a ski resort or seasonal venue is an asset. Key Responsibilities but not limited to: * Greeting guests with warmth and professionalism as they enter the restaurant. * Manage waitlists, reservations and table assignments based on guest needs and flow. * Escort guests to tables and communicate estimated wait times. * Keep the host stand, entrance and lobby areas clean and organized. * Coordinate with servers and managers to ensure smooth pacing and seating rotation. * Support floor staff by running food and drinks during peak times. * Assist with clearing and resetting tables when needed. * Perform basic side duties such as refilling water stations, polishing glassware & napkins folds * Communicate guest requests, feedback, or issues to management promptly. * Uphold all service and safety standards including Serving It Right protocols.  Working Conditions: * Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays are essential. * Ability to stand, walk and move quickly for extended periods. * Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and carry items such as trays or stacks of menus. * Work is in a busy, high-volume environment; occasional outdoor transitions may occur in snowy conditions. Additional Skills: * Friendly, pleasant and welcoming presence. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Calm under pressure with excellent guest service instincts. * Team player who’s eager to jump in and help as needed. * Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and efficiency. * Knowledge of Canadian hospitality culture is an asset.
